Therapy that meets your child where they are
Child & adolescent therapy with Dr. Piker
Every child is different. I provide a warm, supportive space where children and adolescents can feel comfortable being themselves, understand what they’re experiencing, and build the confidence to navigate life’s challenges.
I’m a licensed psychologist whose work focuses on children, adolescents, and families. I genuinely love working with children—their creativity, energy, and unique ways of seeing the world. I find it incredibly rewarding to build a relationship with a child, help make therapy feel less intimidating, and watch them gain confidence as they work through challenges.
I work with many neurodivergent children and adolescents, including those with ADHD and autism, as well as children navigating anxiety, emotional and social challenges, and life transitions. I believe every child is different, and therapy should reflect that. I take time to understand each child’s personality, strengths, experiences, and the ways they communicate their needs. Depending on the child, I may incorporate play, art, movement, or conversation to help them feel comfortable opening up and making sense of their experiences.
Parents are an important part of my work with children. I meet regularly with parents to learn more about their child’s history and experiences, share observations and strategies, and stay connected throughout therapy. I see the child within the context of their family and work collaboratively with parents to support their child’s growth both in and outside of therapy.
I earned my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in School-Clinical Child Psychology from Pace University and have worked with children, adolescents, and families across a variety of clinical and school-based settings. My practice is neurodiversity-affirming and LGBTQ+ affirming.
I often think of my role as a “feelings doctor.” My job is to create a meaningful relationship where children feel safe sharing their world and to help them understand themselves, navigate challenges, and recognize their own capacity for growth.
